This is the auger holes, that coal miners used to take a auger and drill into the side of the mountain and pull the coal out. You can see auger holes on the Hatfield and McCoy Trail at the Rockhouse Trailhead.
Priscella's papa was one of the coal miners that help drill the coal out.
He is now a disabled coal miner and retired .
Hatfield and McCoy Quad Camp is located
on Paradise Island of Christian WV and is
the most accessible campground location
for all six trailheads.

on Route 80 direct from Paradise

driver's licence, helmet, liability
insurance and drive with caution.

Stay at the Upper Room Inn with four bedrooms which sleeps 1 up to 22 people. All four bedroom units shared a kitchen and living room. Every two bedrooms share a bathroom. Apartment Style.
Stay at the Vineyard Bungalow with four bedrooms which sleeps 1 to 13 people. Originally it was a 14 x 70 trailer. Same set-up as the Upper Room Inn. Every two bedroom units share a bathroom and all four bedrooms share a kitchen. Apartment style.
Stay at the Old Testament Bunkhouse with two bedroom which sleeps 1 to 8 people. (Two more bedrooms will soon be added). Which will be the same set up as the Upper Room Inn and Vineyard Bungalow.
Each bedroom unit has cable TV.
Build a campfire at the river at night.
Fire rings provided and wood is for a donation.
Food can be catered.
Or you can rent a private camper, The Eagle Haven is a 5th wheel camper, the Raven's Nest is a 5th wheel camper, the Wolf/Lamb park model camper, all campers is 35 feet, and sleeps up to four people and the Raven's Nest sleeps five to six. All have a kitchen, bath and cable TV. These units cost $30.00 more a night.
